Immigration Court & Removal Defense

When the government moves to deport someone, the stakes could not be higher. Martín O'Hara has represented clients in immigration courts across Southern California, including West LA, Santa Ana, Van Nuys, and Adelanto. He fights for every legal option available, from asylum to cancellation of removal.

Asylum

People who have fled persecution, violence, or threats in their home country may be eligible for asylum in the United States. Whether you are filing for the first time or defending an asylum claim in immigration court, we can help you understand your options and build the strongest possible case.

Bond Hearings & Detention

If you or a family member is being held in immigration detention, time is critical. We represent clients at bond hearings across Southern California, arguing for release so families can stay together while the case moves forward. We can also pursue release through a federal habeas corpus petition in U.S. District Courts throughout California.

Family Petitions

U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents may be able to bring family members to the United States legally. We guide clients through the petition process from start to finish, whether the family member is already in the U.S. or applying from abroad.

Appeals: BIA & Ninth Circuit

When an immigration judge rules against you or denies your case, the case is not necessarily over. The Law Office of Martín O'Hara handles appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Citizenship & Naturalization

Becoming a U.S. citizen is one of the most important steps in an immigrant's life. We prepare all applications and documents, help clients get ready for the exam, and accompany them to the USCIS interview so they are never facing it alone.
